Whether you are a language enthusiast who would like to know more about this profession or just a translator who needs to brush up their translation theory, this is a fun revision of the basic translation techniques.

The presentation is based on Hurtado Albir’s classification in Traducción y Traductología (2001) and some of my notes taken from my Translation course taught by professor Silvia Firmenich.

Translators use these techniques all the time, and after a while, they apply them automatically, without actually being conscious they’re doing it. But to get to that point, first you need to know them and understand how and when to apply them.
